The Jan Chetna Yatra, which began from Sitabdiara in Bihar, the native village of Sri Jayaprakash Narayan, on October 11, has concluded today after travelling through the 22 states and 5 union territories.
It culminated in a mammoth rally at the Ramlila ground today which was attended by top leaders of BJP & NDA. The large turn-out, rivaling any other that this ground has ever seen, turned the rally into a grand finale to this extremely successful yatra.
Sri Advani ji himself has called the Jan chetna yatra as the most successful of all his yatras, so far. But for the lacs of workers and supporters in the country who probably witnessed this as their first yatra, it was a memorable experience which was unprecedented in scale and effect.
While media feigned ignorance and pretended as if nothing was happening, a semblance of a revolution took shape in the country’s hinterland where the common man came forward on his own and joined the crusade against corruption. The penultimate day of the Janchetna yatra started from Haldwani in Uttarakahnd yesterday. Soon the yatra reached Rudrapur where a public rally was held. After the rally, a warm send-off was given by leaders of Uttarakhand led by the CM, Sri B.C. Khanduri.
By noon, the Yatra reached Rampur via Bilaspur. Entering UP again, the yatra was given a rousing welcome. Many people lined up the roads leading to Rampur. A capacity crowd of over 30,000 was present at the Physical college ground in Rampur.
After Rampur, yatra moved towards Delhi. It was welcomed at the zero point at Moradabad byepass near Pakbada. Nearly 5000 people accorded a warm welcome. Later, there was another huge welcome at Gajrola at around 5 pm. The welcome meet here was converted into an impromptu Jan sabha. Day 39-40 : After rejuvenating Uttarakhand, Yatra moves into Uttar Pradesh in the final lap

Uttarakhand turned out be a very good experience for the yatris. Not only, they were taken care of well, the yatra also drew very good public response.
After Dehradun, on Day 39, yatra was received very warmly and enthusiastically at every point en route to Haldwani. Brief detour in parts of UP also boosted the morale of party workers in the state when people turned out in very large number in places like Najibabad & Dhampur.
When the yatra re-entered Uttarakhand through the terai belt, the scenes were euphoric. Welcome points at Kashipur and Bajpur eventually became venues for impromptu rallies. People lined up the streets. Hundreds of youth on bikes joined the yatra and party workers and supporters accorded a rousing welcome to the yatra. read more…

During the past two days, on Day 38 & 39, yatra has been traversing through the hill states of Himachal & Uttarakhand. Briefly, it passed through Haryana yesterday and will touch a few areas in Uttar Pradesh today.
After leaving Chandigarh on Day 38 afrer a press conference, yatra moved to Himachal via Panchkula and some parts of Haryana. It was welcopmed at places like Raipur Rani and Naraingarh etc before being received at Kala Amb (Himachal) with a rousing welcome. read more…
